Robert Holden, librarian, curator of exhibitions here and overseas and author of more than 30 books, will speak on his latest book And The Band Played On: How Music Lifted the ANZAC Spirit in the Battlefields of the First World War. The book is based on unpublished ANZAC diaries at the Mitchell Library and tells how music and entertainment roused the ANZAC spirit, boosted morale both on the front and back home.
