Macleay Museum Tour (and end-of-year drinks)
Please join us for end-of-year drinks at the Macleay Museum before its closure in preparation for a move to a new building. This will be the last time this amazing collection can be viewed in its original unique building.
Dr Jude Philp, Senior Curator will give a presentation on the history of this much-loved museum.
The Macleay Museum opened at the University of Sydney in 1887. It is the oldest natural history collection in Australia, originating in the cabinets of Alexander Macleay, and expanding through the collecting networks of the Macleay family from Darwin to Raffles, from Cuba to Wagga Wagga. A snapshot of early biodiversity can be seen through its zoological specimens. This is one of the last opportunities to see the museum in its original location before it closes on 25 November.
